Our firm is a full service civil engineering design firm that offers the following: Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Plans, Development Work, Hydraulic Studies, Bridge Design, Roadway Design, Sanitary Sewer Design, Drainage Design, Water Line Design, Municipal/Town Engineer Work, 3-D Graphics and Video Capabilities, Construction Administration, and Easement Acquisition.

Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Plans

Our office is familiar with all requirements of preparing Submittals to the state agencies that take into account all federal and state environmental standards and best management practices. Heritage Engineering is familiar with the latest Ordinances in Kentucky and Indiana. Many of these communities have been aggressively updating their plan review process to insure all development is in accordance with the E.P.A.'s "Storm Water Management for Construction Practices" manual.

Private Development - Residential & Commercial

Our experience includes numerous residential, commercial, and industrial developments in Indiana and Kentucky. Our staff of Engineers, Landscape Architects, and Technicians are highly skilled at producing high quality development plans and construction documents. Recent work has included retail developments (Waterford Park, Waterford Park South, Dairy Queen, Kroger, Baptist Hospital, Maryhurst and Mercy Academy), residential developments (St. Anthony Estates, Woodridge Lake, And Little Springs Patio Homes), zoning cases (Fern Creek Commons, Slate Creek Estates, and Louisville Legends Sports Complex), and industrial developments (River Ridge Tracts 1, 2 and The Louisville Industrial Center). We strive to design cost effective developments and work hand in hand with our clients to ensure that our design will stay on schedule and within budget.

Hydraulic Studies

Members of our staff are leaders in this region in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and studies. Mr. Bill Sanders, P.E. leads these efforts for our firm. Past and present work includes modeling efforts for the Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD). We also continue to provide modeling services for numerous private clients throughout southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Bridge Design

Through our strategic business relationship with CPI Supply our firms have worked throughout the southern portion of Indiana on a wide range of bridge improvement projects. This work has consisted of preparing hydraulic models, roadway approach improvements, erosion prevention and sediment control plans, and structural design (including wing-wall, abutment, and footer design). Our office has also performed bridge design services for the Harrison County Engineer’s office and the Town of Georgetown Indiana.

Roadway Design

Roadway design is a part of most all of our private development (i.e. subdivision design) projects. Our firm provides roadway design services for County governments including Harrison County, IN and the Town of Georgetown, IN. One of our most recent projects included the design of 1.5 miles of rural roadway improvements on the Corydon-New Middletown Roadway Project in Harrison County. Our firm also provided right-of-way acquisition services on this project.

Sanitary Sewer Design

Our founding partners have over 35 years of combined experience in sanitary sewer design. Past projects include design and design oversight for over 50 miles of sewer in the Mill Creek area in Jefferson County, KY for MSD. Our firm is currently providing management oversight for the design and construction of the Town of Georgetown, Indiana's new 350,000 gpd WWTP.

Drainage Design

Our drainage design efforts include the design of stormwater detention and retention basins. In addition, we are currently under contract with the Louisville and Jefferson County MSD to provide design improvements as part of their on-going Drainage Response Initiative (DRI) program. This program is an effort to resolve long-standing property owner requests for drainage improvements. Our firm will make site visits, perform surveying, and design small to large scale improvements that can be performed by either MSD crews or private contractors.

Water Line Design

We are currently under an annual contract with the Louisville Water Company to provide design services for their distribution expansion program. This work includes the design of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16-inch water mains. This contract is a five year contract that is renewed annually. Our experience also includes design of water line improvements (included both domestic and fire protection) for private development projects.

Municipal

Our firm currently performs a variety of services for municipal clients. A member of our staff, Bob Woosley, P.E., currently serves as the "Town Engineer" for the Town of Georgetown, IN. This work has exposed our office to a variety of development projects in the community. Work includes the review and approval of development plans for the Town. We are currently under contract with Harrison County, IN leading their efforts to establish a working Regional Sewer District (RSD). Our work initially included the preparation of a Feasibility Study to determine wastewater needs in the County. This work has since progressed to the establishment of the RSD and providing engineering support services to the RSD.

Landscape Architecture

The staff at Heritage Engineering is committed to improving the built and natural environment. We encompass the analysis, planning, design, management, and stewardship of the natural and built environments to create viable commercial developments, livable environments, recreational spaces, and workable places.

3-D Graphics and Video Presentation

One of the most recent services that we have begun to offer our clients is our ability to transform our site development projects into a three-dimensional video. We have used this technology effectively for numerous projects to present the project to the general public and government officials. Our clients have also used these videos to attract tenants to their site.

Land Planning

Heritage Engineering provides services for long term comprehensive planning to insure our clients that their projects will be viable and marketable over time. Looking at projects in due course is essential to creating a successful product. Our staff has developed master plans for commercial, industrial, residential, hospital, counties utilities, greenways, schools and parks.
